Account Manager

Get to Know Spatial Eye

We provide software solutions to utility network operators. Our products are developed in the Netherlands and sold worldwide. In the Netherlands, we are often closely involved in the implementation of our software. Our customers, many of whom are among the leaders in the energy market, rely on us to support their role in the energy transition.

Our software is designed for data with a spatial component. Numerous applications have been built on our core platform to address specific business needs, with the KLIC application being one of the most well-known examples. The development of our software takes place in close collaboration with our customers. We are not a provider of custom software solutions, but Spatial Eye software is highly configurable, and our SDK often enables customers to meet specialized requirements.

We sell our software and services directly in the Netherlands and Belgium, while international sales are primarily conducted through partners. To ensure our products and services effectively address concrete business challenges, our sales approach is content-driven. This requires a solid understanding of our products, the market, and our customers’ needs.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing relationships with our customers in the Netherlands and Belgium. You will oversee how ongoing projects and new assignments impact overall customer satisfaction. You understand your customers, stay informed about their developments, and recognize how our solutions create value. You will identify and gather needs from existing customers in the energy and telecommunications sectors. Solutions implemented for our Dutch customers often serve as examples for our global customer base, where significant growth opportunities exist.

Your communication will often take place online, but you will also conduct customer visits. You will maintain active and regular contact with customers and present both our current and future offerings. You can communicate effectively with customers in both formal and informal settings.

You will know which products your customers currently use and assess whether these products continue to meet their needs. You will identify when renewals or changes are required and proactively advise customers on which Spatial Eye products can help solve their challenges and business problems.

You will translate customer needs into requirements that form the basis for Statements of Work. Where necessary, you will discuss commercial proposals with the Services, Solutions (Czech Republic), and Engineering departments. For technical refinements, you will receive support from pre-sales colleagues and architects.

You will sell not only our software products but also our professional services, creating an effective balance between customer resources, external service providers, and Spatial Eye consultants.

Collaboration is an essential part of your daily work. You will work closely with colleagues in the commercial team and with Engineering, Services, Solutions, and project managers. Together, you will ensure that everything sold and promised is delivered according to customer agreements. When customers have questions, you will ensure they receive answers from the right person. Internally, you are the key point of contact regarding customer satisfaction.

You will continuously focus on ensuring that our customers’ solutions operate optimally and that customer satisfaction remains high while working closely with colleagues.

What You Will Do
  • Maintain regular contact with existing customers.
  • Identify and keep track of both formal and informal decision-makers within customer organizations.
  • Recognize, create, and capitalize on new sales opportunities in the market and among existing customers.
  • Ensure that sold products and services are fully utilized, creating opportunities for renewals and deeper sales engagement.
  • Prepare tailored proposals and quotations for customers.
  • Achieve sales targets and close deals through signed contracts.
  • Recognize developments within customer organizations and discuss changing needs in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate within a small, motivated commercial team and with Spatial Eye partners.
What You Bring
  • The ability to build high-quality relationships with customers at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of business processes within the utilities sector (energy, water, and telecommunications).
  • Affinity with GIS or geospatial information and an interest in topics such as utility network management, the energy transition, or Smart Grids.
  • The ability to conduct software sales in a consultative and content-driven manner. You have sufficient IT knowledge to quickly understand the functionality and applications of Spatial Eye products.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, analytical thinking, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Fluency in Dutch (native-level preferred) and English (preferably at C1 level or higher).
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in account management and/or software sales.
  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (for example, Commercial Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration and Technology, or a comparable level of education and professional capability).
  • A valid Category B driving license and willingness to work several days per week from the office in Culemborg, with the possibility of visiting customers on-site.
What We Offer

Spatial Eye offers a warm and supportive working environment where teamwork, innovation, and personal growth are central. Naturally, this is complemented by a competitive and attractive compensation package.

  • A competitive salary aligned with your experience. As an indication, we expect a base salary in the range of €5,600 to €6,400 gross per month on a full-time basis, including a company phone and laptop.
  • Excellent secondary benefits, including a 13th-month salary, a strong pension plan, and a performance-based bonus.
  • A high degree of freedom and responsibility to organize your work in your own way.
  • Flexible working hours; part-time employment may be possible.
  • Hybrid working arrangements, including policies and facilities that support both office work in Culemborg and remote work.
